We sell privacy, so we take yours seriously. This notice explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

OwnIt Systems is an independent home security installer based in Middlesbrough. You can contact us about anything in this notice at hello@ownitsystems.co.uk.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking, and it loads nothing from third parties. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes basic technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.

When you contact us

If you message us by WhatsApp, phone or email, we keep your name, contact details, address and the details of what you'd like covered. We use them only to reply, arrange a visit, quote and carry out your installation.

• Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and carrying out that contract.
• How long we keep it: enquiries that don't go ahead are deleted within 12 months. Customer records are kept for 6 years for tax and warranty purposes.
• Who we share it with: nobody, except where the law requires it. We never sell or rent your data.

Your camera footage

Your recordings are stored on the hub in your home, and we have no copy of them. We only ever access your system with your permission, for example to help with a support request.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email us and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
